Job Requirements

The Principal Mechanical Engineer shall be the face of Quest Global, S/he shall establish and manage a large engineering Mechanical Team, work with AIRTIFICIAL, drive collaboration and governance at all levels. S/he will be responsible for KPIs & Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) targets

  • A technical expert & team leader of Mechanical Engineers for the assigned projects
  • Makes robust designs of complex assemblies and parts according to the timing, budget and quality of the projects assigned
  • Ensures the technical integrity of the work delivered from the Global Engineering Hub
  • Coaches and leads Engineers, Assistant Engineers; The focus is on developing their technical & engineering management skills

The typical Engineering activities include,

  • Design & Development of devices, cubicles/cabinets, assemblies, skids etc. (3D and 2D)
  • Safety & Compliance Studies
  • FEA Analysis
  • Documentation & Compliance
  • Pneumatic/Hydraulic schemes
  • Motion Studies

Details of the Engineering Scope of Work:

  • Design & Development of devices (3D and 2D)

  • 3D Design for structural frameworks, enclosures, electrical installations updates

  • 3D Design Turnkey
  • Pre project 3D studies
  • 2D drawings for data received or 3D created
  • Develop internal products / families as Standard devices
  • Safety & Compliance

  • Perform risk assessments

  • FMEA studies
  • FEA Analysis
  • Perform stress analysis (FEA), thermal analysis, and material selection.
  • Documentation & Compliance

  • Develop mechanical documentation, including:

  • User manuals.
  • BOM & drawings packages
  • Technical data
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and best practices.
  • Pneumatic/Hydraulic
  • Design pneumatic and hydraulic schemes
  • On-Site Support (through short-term visits)

  • Travel to customer sites for Assembly follow up, debugging and machine qualification.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting as required.

Additionally, the role requires the following experience,

  • Collaborate closely with Team Leaders of other departments and Project Management, to align project objectives.
  • Ensure that all required procedures and standards are implemented and respected.
  • Establish an organizational structure and effective communication protocols.
  • Establish phases in the tasks and make weekly / fortnightly reviews with team members to take corrective actions.
  • Enhance the internal training and propose potential improvements regarding mechanical processes (Methodology / Standardization)
  • Support the creation of a library of standard groups and components and ensure the application of the Mechanical internal standardization guidelines.
  • Ensure Machine Manuals and technical reports are developed accurately.
  • Verify the design calculations of other engineers within the Mechanical Engineering team.
  • Create positive impact to all stakeholders (customers, suppliers, partners, internal organization, etc.) by sharing QG Customer's strong brand values, essence, philosophy, heritage, way of doing, purpose, value proposition, etc.

Work Experience

Soft Skills / Personality Traits

  • Extensive knowledge of 3D CAD software, preferably Solid Edge
  • Knowledge of EPLAN and ACAD systems
  • Extensive experience of Finite element methods
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Expertise in design for manufacturing technologies, tolerancing analysis, FMEA and quality assurance
  • Mechatronics Skills
  • Technical documentation (drawings, specifications, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience in rapid prototyping in a workshop environment is preferred (3D printing, mechanical assembly, operating manual tools and power tools, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of project management and engineering techniques, processes and tools, including project planning tools
  • Knowledge of Machine Directive and other industrial equipment safety rules
  • Working experience in an international team
  • Green Belt 6-Sigma Certification / Experience
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Flexible to travel
  • Knowledge of Spanish, Polish, Chinese or German will be positively valued
