Architect (Civil)

Job Summary:

The Senior Architect will be responsible for leading the design and documentation process for complex, large-scale real estate projects from concept through successful construction administration. This role requires a blend of creative design ability, advanced technical knowledge, project management expertise, and strong team leadership skills to ensure projects are delivered with high quality, on schedule, and within budget, adhering to all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

I. Design Leadership & Project Management

• Design Development: Lead the design development and creation of comprehensive architectural concepts, ensuring they meet client briefs, company standards, and market requirements for quality and functionality.
• Project Oversight: Manage the architectural project lifecycle for assigned projects, overseeing deliverables, project schedules, and resource allocation within the design team.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary architectural liaison, presenting design proposals to clients, directors, and external stakeholders. Clearly communicate design intent, progress, and technical solutions.
• Budget & Schedule: Monitor and manage the architectural design budget and schedule, proactively identifying and addressing risks that could impact project timelines.

II. Technical & Quality Assurance

• Code Compliance: Ensure strict compliance of all designs and construction documents with local codes, including the Gujarat GDCR (General Development Control Regulations), safety regulations, and national building codes.
• Technical Documentation: Oversee the production of precise and complete Construction Documents (CDs), specifications, and detailed drawing sets required for tendering, permitting, and construction.
• Inter-Disciplinary Coordination: Lead coordination efforts with Structural, MEP, and Civil engineering consultants to integrate all systems into a fully coordinated design, resolving complex technical conflicts.
• Construction Administration: Provide essential support during construction, conducting regular site visits, responding to complex RFIs (Requests for Information), and reviewing/approving shop drawings to maintain design and quality standards.

III. Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Team Supervision: Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of Junior Architects and Architectural Assistants, fostering their professional growth and ensuring consistency in design and documentation quality.
• Process Improvement: Drive the adoption of advanced design and modeling technologies, such as BIM (Building Information Modeling), to enhance efficiency and quality within the architectural department.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture (B.Arch / M.Arch) from a recognized institution.
• Experience: Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience as an Architect, with substantial time spent in a Senior or Project Architect role, preferably within the Real Estate or high-rise building construction sector.
• Licensure: Registered Architect (valid COA registration) is highly preferred.
• Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, and presentation tools like SketchUp/rendering software.
• Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies, materials, tendering processes, and site execution challenges in the Indian context.
• Local Expertise: Familiarity with the Ahmedabad/Gujarat regulatory environment and vendor network is a significant advantage.
• Soft Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and strong verbal/written communication in English and Hindi (Gujarati is a plus).
