Role Overview

The Estimation & Billing Engineer will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing BOQs, managing client billing and ensuring alignment with project budgets and contractual requirements. This role is crucial in maintaining cost efficiency and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed project cost estimates for PEB structures including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting.
• Analyze architectural and structural drawings to prepare quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Develop tender documentation, cost summaries and price comparisons.
• Coordinate with the design, procurement and project execution teams for accurate costing and timelines.
• Evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotes and integrate them into the final costing sheet.
• Track and manage project costs to ensure alignment with budget forecasts.
• Prepare interim and final client bills as per contract terms and project milestones.
• Reconcile contractor/vendor bills and support project accounts with documentation.
• Monitor work progress on-site for timely billing and quantity validation.
• Maintain records of variation orders, client approvals and pricing adjustments.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and internal teams on billing-related queries and clarifications.
• Assist in cost control, forecasting and project budgeting reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering; Postgraduate diploma in QS (Quantity Surveying) /Contracts is an added advantage.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in cost estimation and billing, preferably in the PEB, steel structures, or industrial construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of cost estimation tools, rate analysis, and industry pricing norms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and billing software (ERP/Tally/Primavera/SAP – preferred).
• Experience in preparing RA(Running Account) bills, final billing, and reconciliation documentation.
• Familiarity with tendering processes, commercial terms, and contracts.
• Good understanding of tax structures (GST, TDS) in construction billing.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working on industrial sheds, PEBs, warehouses, or similar infrastructure projects.
• Involvement in EPC, design-build, or turnkey projects is a plus.
• Working knowledge of relevant IS codes and PEB estimation standards.

Salary: Based on experience and industry standards
