Job Title

Wastewater Modelling Engineer / Wastewater Network Modeller

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, calibrate, and verify models of wastewater and sewerage networks (including gravity and pressure systems).
  • Build, maintain, and update digital network models for wastewater collection/transport, treatment-inlet works, combined sewer overflow (CSO) systems, pumping stations, and force mains.
  • Use modelling software (e.g., InfoWorks ICM, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, StormCAD, HEC-RAS) for scenario development, capacity assessment, flood risk/CSO mitigation, and flow prediction.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, BIM/CAD teams, and other disciplines (including Civil 3D, AutoCAD, GIS) to integrate model outcomes into drawings, alignments, plans, and sections.
  • Prepare model outputs (flow profiles, long-sections, network schematics), technical reports, drawings, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Conduct review and quality assurance of network models; validate with field data, survey information, and ensure compliance with project/bid specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior modellers and engineers; support team training in modelling workflows and tools.
  • Support coordination with BIM, CDE (Common Data Environment) tools, and clash detection workflows (e.g., Navisworks) when required for multidisciplinary infrastructure interfaces.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to define modelling scope, assumptions, and deliverables; participate in feasibility studies, options analysis, and detailed design phases.
  • Maintain and update modelling standards, workflows, and libraries; support continuous improvement of modelling efficiency and quality.
