We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quality Engineer to oversee and ensure the highest standards of quality in our EOT Crane manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in quality systems, welding inspection, fabrication processes, assembly inspection, and customer quality management within the heavy engineering industry.

Key Responsibilities:1. Quality Control & Inspection

  • Conduct in-process and final inspection of fabricated crane structures, assemblies, and critical components.
  • Perform dimensional checks using appropriate measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Dial Gauge, etc.).
  • Inspect welding processes (WPS/PQR review, weld visual, NDT coordination).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant IS/ISO/IEC standards applicable to EOT cranes.

2. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain and prepare QC documentation including inspection reports, test certificates, and quality records.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and other applicable quality management systems.
  • Review and approve supplier quality documents and material test certificates (MTCs).

3. Supplier Quality Assurance

  • Conduct supplier audits and incoming material inspections.
  • Coordinate with procurement and vendors to resolve quality issues.
  • Develop vendor quality improvement plans.

4. Continuous Improvement & Root Cause Analysis

  • Implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) for internal and external non-conformances.
  • Use tools like 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and Pareto Analysis for root cause analysis.
  • Work on continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, 5S, and Lean practices.

5. Customer Interaction & Support

  • Handle customer inspections (Third Party, Consultants, and End Users).
  • Address customer complaints and coordinate for resolution and documentation.
  • Ensure product quality meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of heavy fabrication, welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, SAW), and NDT techniques.
  • Familiarity with standards: IS 3177, IS 807, IS 800, IS 2062, and relevant crane testing protocols.
  • Proficient in using quality tools and measuring instruments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination abilities.

Qualifications:

  • B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
