Sr. Liferay Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Liferay Developer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level Liferay portal solutions, integrating them seamlessly with various systems and architectures. This role requires a strong background in system architecture, solution design, and a comprehensive understanding of modern web and enterprise technologies. The Sr. Liferay Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient digital solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and customization of Liferay portal applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical standards.
• Design and implement scalable system architectures utilizing microservices, RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and cloud-based solutions such as AWS and Azure.
• Integrate Liferay portals with external systems including Salesforce, Pegasystems, databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), NoSQL databases, and other enterprise systems.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes for data migration and synchronization across platforms.
• Ensure system security through implementation of cloud security measures, system hardening, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and firewall configurations.
• Collaborate on system design and architecture for high availability environments using load balancing, virtualization (VMware, ESXi), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or similar tools.
• Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning of applications across operating systems such as Windows and Linux.
• Maintain documentation for system architecture, SDLC processes, and technical specifications following best practices in Agile methodologies.
• Conduct system assessments including vulnerability assessments and system hardening to ensure compliance with security standards.
• Support IT infrastructure management tasks including GPO configuration, DHCP setup, DNS management, VPN setup, and network security protocols.

Skills

• Extensive experience in Java development with expertise in OOP principles; proficiency in C#, C++, Python, Ruby on Rails is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of web technologies including JavaScript, CSS, XML, HTML5; experience with React Express is advantageous.
• Proven experience working with enterprise content management systems like Liferay; deep understanding of system architecture design for large-scale portals.
• Expertise in service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices architecture, RESTful API development (REST/SOAP), and API management.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure; experience with virtualization technologies like VMware/ESXi; containerization using Kubernetes or Docker.
• Knowledge of database systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle T-SQL; experience with NoSQL databases is desirable.
• Experience implementing DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools; scripting skills in Shell Scripting or Bash are preferred.
• Strong understanding of network security protocols including VPNs, firewalls, DNS management; experience with threat intelligence and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Familiarity with IT infrastructure components such as DHCP configuration, GPO management, WDS deployment strategies.
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies; experience working within SDLC frameworks; familiarity with GIT version control systems.
