Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, configure, and implement an e-invoicing Access Point integration solution based on open standards and frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise Java development, API integrations, and secure document exchange protocols used in B2B/eGovernment communication systems.

This role involves working with specifications related to PEPPOL, AS2/AS4 messaging, and UBL document formats. The candidate should be capable of understanding and extending existing open-source frameworks, configuring them for interoperability, and developing a robust, production-ready solution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain a Java-based Access Point integration service for e-invoicing networks.
  • Implement and configure secure message exchange protocols (AS2/AS4).
  • Work with e-invoicing standards such as PEPPOL BIS and UBL.
  • Integrate the system with external Access Point providers and document validation services.
  • Configure message transmission, certificate-based security, and transport layers for interoperability.
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and message tracking for exchanged business documents.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and system architects to ensure compliance with eDelivery network specifications.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge transfer for deployment and maintenance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot / Java EE) development.
  • Strong understanding of SOAP, RESTful APIs, and message-based integration.
  • Experience working with digital certificates (PKI, TLS, keystore, truststore).
  • Knowledge of AS2/AS4 messaging protocols and secure B2B communication.
  • Familiarity with PEPPOL, UBL/XML document standards, or other e-invoicing/eDelivery frameworks.
  • Experience configuring and extending open-source Java applications or frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Maven, Tomcat/Jetty, and JMS.
  • Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
  • Version control and CI/CD experience (Git, Jenkins).

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience developing or configuring PEPPOL Access Point or similar eDelivery gateways.
  • Familiarity with OpenPEPPOL specifications and SMP/SML registry services.
  • Experience with message signing, encryption, and certificate validation.
  • Exposure to B2B document exchange, interoperability testing, or e-invoicing systems.

  • Candidates currently working on a contract basis or freelancers with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
