The
Senior Director of IT – Provider Team
will lead technology delivery initiatives within the
US Healthcare Payer–Provider domain
. This strategic leadership role demands a strong blend of
technical expertise, delivery management, and people leadership
, along with deep experience in
provider operations, data management, and system integration
.
The Director will oversee a large cross-functional team, driving the development and implementation of scalable, high-quality solutions that align with business goals. The ideal candidate will thrive in a
matrixed, collaborative environment
, working closely with US-based stakeholders and internal teams to ensure delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Lead and inspire the Provider IT team, promoting innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage a core team of 5 employees with overall responsibility for ~60 resources, including Developers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide mentoring, and support talent development across the team.
- Identify capability gaps and implement targeted upskilling or hiring strategies.
Delivery Management
- Own the end-to-end delivery of Provider domain projects, ensuring scope, quality, and timelines are met.
- Oversee project execution, proactively manage risks and dependencies, and ensure effective escalation when required.
- Ensure delivery of robust, scalable software solutions aligned with business and regulatory needs.
Resource Planning & Optimization
- Develop and maintain detailed
resource and capacity plans
to align with project demands. - Partner with Product Owners to prioritize initiatives and allocate resources effectively.
- Lead demand forecasting to anticipate future staffing and skill needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with
US counterparts
and global stakeholders. - Act as the primary interface for Provider domain initiatives, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Present delivery updates, risks, and key metrics to senior leadership.
Technical & Strategic Leadership
- Maintain deep knowledge of the current technology ecosystem—
Mainframe, Java, APIs
, and vendor integrations. - Provide hands-on technical guidance and ensure adherence to enterprise standards and best practices.
- Contribute to the definition of long-term IT strategy and technology roadmaps for the Provider domain.
Qualifications & Experience
- 15–18 years of overall IT experience, with a minimum of 10 years in the
US Healthcare Payer industry
. - In-depth knowledge of the
Provider domain
— including Credentialing, Contracting, Provider Directories, and Provider Data Management. - Proven track record in
application development leadership
and successful project/program delivery. - Experience in
demand and capacity planning
, forecasting, and vendor management. - Strong understanding of enterprise technology stacks (Mainframe, Java, APIs).
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated success working in complex,
matrixed global environments
