Opportunity
As a Software Development Engineer I (Backend) at Hiver, you will play a pivotal role in building our technical landscape and learning with our team while contributing to our vibrant company culture. With our customer base expanding rapidly and processing over 5 million emails daily for thousands of active users, you will be at the forefront of creating and enhancing the user experience. In this role, you will work with a team of highly skilled engineers while providing critical technical direction to our back-end development efforts. You will also have the exciting opportunity to tackle intricate technical challenges, including optimizing our architecture to handle the surging email volume and establishing a framework to monitor and enhance the performance of our back-end systems.

You Will Be Working On

  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs for our B2B SaaS platform.
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code while following software engineering best practices.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and QA to deliver high-impact features.
  • Taking ownership of small to medium-sized modules and features, from ideation to production.
  • Debugging and resolving production issues, and continuously improving system performance and reliability.
  • Participating in code reviews and sharing knowledge with peers to foster a strong engineering culture.

We Are Looking For

  • 1–2 years of experience in software development with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language like Python, Ruby, NodeJS hands-on experience with modern frameworks.
  • Exposure to relational databases (MySQL with a solid understanding of SQL), Redis, Queues & Caching techniques
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS)
  • A passion for solving real-world customer problems through technology.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • A learning mindset and enthusiasm to grow in a fast-paced SaaS startup environment.
