Job Title: Senior SCADA Engineer IoT & Remote Monitoring

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SCADA Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of SCADA systems integrated with IoT technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for architecting remote monitoring solutions for real-time data acquisition, control, and optimization across distributed infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and integration of SCADA systems with IoT sensors, gateways, and cloud platforms.
  • Design and implement secure remote monitoring and control solutions for industrial and utility-scale operations.
  • Develop communication protocols for interfacing with smart devices and third-party APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability, scalability, and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Analyze real-time and historical data to improve system performance and operational efficiency.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support technical training initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in SCADA architecture, programming (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, GE iFIX), and remote system deployment.
  • Strong understanding of IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, REST APIs) and cloud-based telemetry systems (Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core, etc.).
  • Experience with edge devices, industrial controllers (PLCs/RTUs), and networking standards (Modbus, OPC UA).
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity practices for remote and cloud-connected systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Python, Node-RED, or other automation scripting tools.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools for predictive maintenance and diagnostics.
  • Certifications in SCADA, IoT, or cybersecurity domains (ISA, Cisco, Microsoft, etc.).
  • Design, develop, test, and commission SCADA systems using IEC standards.
  • Configure and integrate PLC software (e.g., Modbus) with SCADA systems.
  • Implement remote monitoring solutions using MQTT protocols.
  • Develop WMS (Weather Monitoring System) integration with SCADA systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as FTP (File Transfer Protocol), TCP (Transmission Control Protocol).
