Principal Solution Architect-ABAP

ThePrincipal Solution Architect, D&T, ABAPworks independently and possesses expert knowledge and capabilities. This role is responsible for the overall design, development and implementation of SAP applications. The role is viewed as an expert in solution design, development, performance tuning and troubleshooting. Working in a global environment, this role has a hands-on approach capable of working across teams and time zones.This role is to lead a technical team and also perform hands-on work. The work this position will include interfacing and managing discussions with business stakeholders and process teams as well as handling design end-to-end technical solution across various systems including S4 HANA, ECC, APO, BW, PI/PO and Non-SAP Systems.The position must have hands-on experience in ABAP HANA, ABAP OO programming, Adobe forms, Smartforms, SAPSCRIPT, Dialog Programming / Module-Pool Programming, Workflow, ALV Reports, Interfaces, Enhancements, ALE/IDOC and EDI. Experience in Agile development methodology for projects and enhancements and SAP PIPO experience are a plus.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPossesses deep understanding of overall vision, business needs and the solution architecture for SAP applications. Uses this expert knowledge to solve complex problems.Leads a technical team and also works hands-on to handle the business function requirements.This role expects individual to be a SME in ABAP and also deliver the ABAP developments as an Individual contributor as wellDesigns end-to-end technical solutions across various systems including S4HANA, ECC, APO, BW, PI/PO and Non-SAP Systems.Works closely with the process team to understand the business requirements, review the functional specifications, develops technical specifications, builds the application, unit tests the application and supports the process team during integration testing.Designs and builds applications using knowledge of best practices.Investigates and fixs production issues.Coaches, supports and trains other team members.Other duties as assignedAdditional ResponsibilitiesExperience in technical design with the integration between S4HANA, ECC, APO, BW, PI/PO and Non-SAP SystemsContinuous and strong hands-on experience in developing SAP applicationsStrong experience in gathering requirements and as a point of contact to global business / process teamsABAP OO skills is a mustMust have extensive experience of ABAP development workbench, Dictionary, Workflows, SAPForms, BAPI's, Enhancement Framework, RFC's, BADI's, IDOC, ALE and ABAP OBJECTS, IDoc Queue handling, ABAP Proxy Framework, Change document framework, Conversions and Data load methods, SPAU, SPDD and post upgrade activities, Open-SQL performance tuningStrong experience working with ALE / IDoc configuration, enhancements, user exits, error handlingMust have excellent analytical and logical problem solvingEducationBachelor's Degree Computer Science required orBachelor's Degree Information System requiredWork Experience8+ years of relevant experience in the areas specified under Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPreferred Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to work autonomously in a fast-paced & complex environment with a self-motivated work ethic; utilize sound judgment with an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job DescriptionAble to comply with the company's safety and quality policies at all timesWorking with ABAP 7.4 > versionsHANA ABAP experienceKnowledge of SAP business processesExperience / knowledge of Core Interface with debugging and enhancement of CIF interface with SAP APO is a plusTravel Requirements20%: Up to 52 business days per yearPhysical RequirementsSedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.ShiftPrefer 12pm – 9pm India time. Willingness to work outside of these hours as needed.Occasional on-call work required.Ability to work in a global and virtual environment and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
