Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced
R&D Specialist
to lead the development and customization of new and existing products under
private label
arrangements. This role will focus on
product innovation
,
formulation
,
quality compliance
, and
client collaboration
to meet market trends and regulatory standards in global markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Innovation:

  • Develop and customize formulations for
    herbal products, spice blends, teas
    , and
    superfoods
    based on client requirements.
  • Innovate new product lines in line with global health and wellness trends (e.g., detox blends, adaptogen powders, herbal infusions).
  • Conduct ingredient sourcing research and suggest functional ingredients aligned with product claims (organic, non-GMO, vegan, etc.).

Private Label Customization:

  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to translate client briefs into actionable R&D outputs.
  • Customize flavor profiles, packaging suggestions, and product formats for different private label clients.
  • Maintain a catalog of ready-to-market formulations suitable for quick private label adaptation.

Regulatory & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure products meet international regulatory requirements (US FDA, EU standards, FSSAI, etc.).
  • Maintain technical documentation, product specifications, and COAs (Certificates of Analysis).
  • Coordinate with QA teams to ensure product stability, shelf life, and safety standards are met.

Process Optimization:

  • Collaborate with production and procurement to align R&D projects with scalable manufacturing processes.
  • Optimize formulations for cost, efficacy, and shelf-life without compromising quality.

Market Research & Trend Analysis:

  • Continuously monitor global market trends in the natural food, supplement, and wellness sectors.
  • Provide insights on trending herbs, botanicals, and functional ingredients.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree
    in Food Technology, Ayurveda, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 3+ years
    of experience in R&D or product development in the
    FMCG / Food / Herbal / Nutraceutical
    sector.
  • Proven experience working on
    private label projects
    (domestic and international markets preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of
    herbs, spices, botanicals, teas, and superfood
    ingredients.
  • Familiarity with
    global food safety regulations and certifications
    (USDA Organic, HACCP, GMP, etc.).
  • Proficient in technical documentation, lab trials, and sensory evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of clean-label, organic, and wellness product trends.
  • Experience working with
    export-oriented units
    and global client specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
