Job Title: Exotic Fruits & Vegetables Quality CheckerJob Purpose:
Responsible for ensuring the quality, freshness, and compliance of exotic fruits and vegetables before procurement, storage, and dispatch. The role ensures that only the best quality produce reaches customers, adhering to company standards, food safety norms, and customer satisfaction levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Inspection
- Inspect exotic fruits and vegetables on arrival and before dispatch.
- Check for size, color, ripeness, freshness, weight, and absence of defects, damage, or decay.
- Identify and segregate sub-standard or rejected produce.
- Compliance & Standards
- Ensure produce meets company's quality specifications and food safety guidelines.
- Maintain hygiene and follow SOPs during handling and storage.
- Monitor proper packaging, labeling, and cold storage requirements.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Record inspection details in quality check logs.
- Report non-compliance issues to the procurement/warehouse team.
- Maintain daily quality reports and share updates with management.
- Coordination
- Work closely with procurement, warehouse, and dispatch teams.
- Assist vendors/farmers in understanding quality expectations.
- Support training for warehouse staff in basic quality handling.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduate / Diploma in Agriculture, Food Technology, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years in quality inspection of fruits/vegetables (FMCG, Retail, Food Supply Chain).
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of exotic fruits and vegetables.
- Good understanding of food safety, FSSAI standards, and shelf life management.
- Eye for detail and ability to quickly identify defects.
- Basic computer knowledge for report entry.
Work Conditions:
- Location: Warehouse / Distribution Center / Market Yard.
- Shift: Rotational shifts as per operational requirements.
- Physical Work: Involves standing, lifting crates, and working in cold storage areas.
