Reports To: Credit Manager / Head of Credit

Job Summary:

The Credit Executive is responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of customers, managing credit limits, monitoring receivables, and ensuring timely collections. The role involves analyzing financial data, preparing credit reports, coordinating with sales and finance teams, and maintaining healthy customer relationships while minimizing credit risk.

  • Key Responsibilities: Assess and analyze the creditworthiness of new and existing customers based on financial statements, payment history, and other relevant data.
  • Prepare credit appraisal reports and recommend credit limits in line with company policy.
  • Monitor customer accounts to identify potential risks, overdue balances, and credit limit breaches.
  • Coordinate with the sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth credit approvals and order releases.
  • Manage and follow up on outstanding payments to maintain healthy receivables.
  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain updated records of customer credit files and documentation.
  • Support periodic audits and credit reviews.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to reduce credit risk and improve cash flow.
  • Provide insights and reports on DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), aging analysis, and collection performance.
  • Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA/CA Inter preferred).
  • 1–4 years of experience in credit appraisal, collections, or accounts receivable management.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and credit analysis.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Tally, Oracle).
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of working under tight deadlines.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):Average collection period / DSO
  • Credit approval turnaround time
  • Reduction in overdue accounts
  • Accuracy of credit assessment reports
  • Customer satisfaction and internal stakeholder feedback
