Electronics Hardware, Senior Design Engineer

We're looking for a dynamic team player who is driven by results and passionate about product development. He /She will be working on developing a range of electricity metering offers with communication protocols. Direct experience in product development is desirable and some background in Agile methodology is a plus. The position is called Electronics Hardware, Senior Design Engineer, and will be working at SE Power Monitoring (Digital Power) business unit, based at Attibele R&D location, Bengaluru, and reporting to the Delivery Manager.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute electronic product value engineering activities and apply standardized design criteria for parts and products
• Verify the electronic design by carrying out tests, drive certification topics, and till the production of manufacturing prototypes
• Coordinates testing of new parts evaluates test results, and approves or rejects usage of parts based on test results
• Establishes and maintains liaison between engineering and other departments to formulate, evaluate design criteria and meet production requirements
• Able to work & deliver in hardware/software integration and co-simulation environment Requirement
• Experienced in electronics hardware design, and sub-assemblies contributing to the definition of specification and architecture
• Knowledge and experience working with communication protocols such as TCP/IP, MODBUS, SPI, I2C, RS-485
• EMI, EMC test experience
• Awareness about metrology(measurement)parameters and criteria
• Should be a team player and able to actively contribute or participate in daily meetings or discussions
• Should be interested to work with the Power system domain and technologies

Qualifications:

• Strong Experience with Switch Mode Power Supply & Analog design, and in the area of DSP, FPGA, or microcontrollers, and standard peripheral components
• Strong Experience with Digital & High-Speed designs layout & techniques.
• Strong Experience in designing EMI / EMC compliance PCBs.
• Knowledge and implementation of Creepage and clearance on PCB.
• Evaluate and suggest suitable grounding scheme, Enclosure design, shielding design to meet the stringent EMI/C Requirements.
• Develop best practice design guidelines for technical PCB Design.
• Knowledge on RoHS & REACH, Knowledge Thermal management design of Basic Metering & Power supply Products.
• Liaising with internal Schneider PCB assembly engineers to optimize layout for manufacturing cost and efficiency.
• Knowledge on Design for Testing, Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and PCB fabrication processes.
• Works closely with all other disciplines – EMI / EMC, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Purchase, to address conflicting requirement and
• Effectively prioritizes and acts with speed, Self-motivated and goal oriented individual.
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Participate in preparation of project stage gate review documentation.
• Understanding and good experience with system architecture and component design in Basic Metering Products

Education & Experience

• B.E. (or) equivalent in electronics & communication engineering (or) Power Electronics/Electrical & Electronics Engineering 
• Minimum 10 to 12 years of experience in relevant area
