Plant Operator – Nitration Process

Location: Dahej

Industry: Chemical / Specialty Chemical / Pharma

Experience: 2–5 Years

Qualification: ITI / Diploma (Chemical) / B.Sc Chemistry

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate nitration reactors and related equipment as per SOPs.
  • Charge raw materials, solvents, and acids safely into the reactor.
  • Monitor process parameters: temperature, pressure, flow rate, etc.
  • Perform batch operations, sampling, and maintain logbook entries.
  • Handle hazardous chemicals like nitric acid & sulfuric acid safely.
  • Coordinate with DCS Operator / Shift In-charge during operations.
  • Ensure proper cooling, agitation, and reaction control.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE usage, and maintain housekeeping.
  • Report any abnormalities or equipment issues immediately.
  • Support maintenance activities during breakdowns and shutdowns.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Experience in Nitration process is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling.
  • Ability to operate pumps, valves, reactors, scrubbers, etc.
  • Understanding of DCS/SCADA system (added advantage).
  • Ability to follow SOPs and batch records.
