External Job Description

Job Purpose :
Carrying out the research & development and support related activities in solvent-based paint for Refinish, Industrial & Automotive Customers. Supporting the team in meeting projects objectives and timelines, complying to safety & 5 S requirement of the organisation.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • To work on development / modification of formulations meeting the project objective.
  • Designing the shade formulation and matching the shade as per the project requirement.
  • Designing the product specification for implementation on plant.
  • Carrying out the details testing as per the protocol and generating the data for long term performance as well.
  • Supporting plant for the standardisation of formulation.
  • Supporting sales & marketing team, supply chain, plant.

Repeatability and accuracy of results.

Qualifications:

Essential

B Tech, MSC in Chemistry

Desired

Knowledge in Solvent based Paints & Shade Matching.  Additionally, basic knowledge on Resin Chemistry & paint raw materials. Should be conversant with paint raw materials, formulation aspects, paint processing aspect, testing of liquid paint as well as cured paint

Previous Experience:

Essential

Preferred to have work experience in Solvent based Paints, Shade matching, formulation development and Testing Skills.

Desired

1 – 5 years

Functional Competencies:

  • Good knowledge on various chemistries involved in product development for solvent based systems.
  • Ability to identify & collect necessary data on RM, processes, testing, standards etc. 
  • Technical report and scientific paper writing skill
  • Analytical skill

Key Interactions : 

He /She will primarily interact with other function in R&T like Resin Development Group, Microbiology Group, Modern Instrument Lab and Vendor Development Lab.

Additional Requirements:

Should not be allergic to chemicals generally encountered in solvent-based paints
