Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop detailed electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams for solar PV systems using AutoCAD

  • Create designs for roof-mount and ground-mount systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and permitting requirements

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and installation teams to deliver complete design packages

  • Revise drawings based on project updates or authority feedback

  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, maximize energy production, and adhere to safety and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional AutoCAD experience, preferably in electrical or solar design

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, technical drawings, and solar PV system components

  • Ability to deliver accurate, code-compliant designs with minimal supervision

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Experience with solar PV systems, energy storage design, and industry-standard software like Aurora Solar, Open Solar, or Helioscope is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with solar panel design, installation, and maintenance

  • Knowledge of NEC, utility interconnection standards, and local building codes

  • NABCEP certification or similar solar industry credentials

  • Background in structural or electrical drafting related to solar

  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software
