Role Overview:

Alutec is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Logistics to lead its logistics operations from Kochi, India. This critical leadership role will oversee end-to-end logistics activities including international transportation, distribution, and supply chain coordination, with a strong focus on supporting large-scale façade projects across the GCC (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar).

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in managing cross-border logistics operations, customs regulations, and the coordination of material movement between India and Middle East project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with international project delivery timelines and commercial goals.
  • Oversee all aspects of transportation and distribution including route planning, carrier management, fleet operations, and shipment tracking.
  • Manage import/export operations, ensuring compliance with GCC customs laws, trade regulations, and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with procurement, planning, warehouse, and project execution teams to ensure on-time dispatch and delivery.
  • Drive logistics cost optimization through effective route planning, vendor negotiations, and process improvements.
  • Monitor logistics KPIs and generate reports to track performance, lead times, and issue resolution.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals, fostering a high-performance and compliance-driven culture.
  • Collaborate with international partners, freight forwarders, customs agents, and project teams to ensure smooth cross-border operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 10-12 years in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong experience in international logistics, ideally with exposure to GCC supply chains and project-based logistics.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Deep understanding of transportation management, customs documentation, export/import laws, and supply chain best practices.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and tools.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-border project environment.
