We're a plant-based product innovation company on a mission to harness the power of functional botanicals to create safe, effective, and modern formulations .

Our current R&D efforts focus on plants like kava (Piper methysticum) , kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) , and other culturally significant botanicals used in traditional wellness practices around the world.

Role Summary:

We're hiring a PhD-level Botanist to lead research, formulation, and product innovation for functional botanical products.

This is a full-time, remote-friendly role focused on early-stage discovery, scientific exploration, and turning plant-based insights into practical, functional formulations.

If you're passionate about bridging traditional plant wisdom with modern product development , this role could be for you.

Key Responsibilities:

→ Conduct botanical research on kava, kratom, and related plants

→ Lead formulation and development of extracts, supplements, and functional products

→ Oversee lab and field studies for extraction, safety, and compound stability

→ Collaborate with regulatory teams to ensure global compliance (FDA, GRAS, TGA)

→ Translate scientific insights into innovation pipelines and product strategies

→ Support cross-functional teams with scientific documentation and strategy

You should have:

  • PhD in Botany, Plant Sciences, Pharmacognosy, or Ethnobotany
  • Hands-on experience with kava, kratom, or similar botanicals
  • Strong background in natural product formulation and plant compound extraction
  • Familiarity with botanical chemistry , safety evaluation, and regulatory standards
  • Excellent scientific communication and documentation skills

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience with wellness, supplements, or herbal product development
  • Knowledge of global regulatory frameworks for botanicals
  • Field research or published work on culturally significant plants
