Position Summary :

  • Managing timely responses to customer notices / legal notices/ advisory services/ show cause notices / notice from statutory authorities and providing opinions to internal departments.
  • Tracking and verification of the Departmental MIS for meetings for various meetings and reporting.
  • Research on new judgments pertaining to Life insurance industry Consumer, Civil & Criminal, and lease related matters.
  • Handling and management of litigation pertaining to Ombudsman, Civil & Criminal, Consumer litigation and other legal related issues.
  • Coordination with external lawyers in the litigations which is filed by and against the Company, provide inputs to them and finalize the written statements etc.
  • Comprehensive representation before Ombudsman, Consumer court and other Government bodies. Should also be well versed in Arbitration Laws.
  • Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
  • Adherence to internal processes and external regulations.
  • To provide legal advice on queries and opinion on claims cases raised by the stakeholders with a view to safeguard the Companys rights/ Interests;
  • Advise internal team on legal pronouncements/developments with special reference to rulings by the courts/forums

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications (Framework required by the position):

  • Qualification - Law Graduate with min 4-6 years of experience
  • In depth knowledge of Procedural Law (CPC & BNSS), Insurance Laws, Redressal public grievance and other applicable laws/regulations;
  • Effective oral/ written communication and fluency in English , Hindi;
  • Desirable-Basic understandings of Tamil/Telugu.
