The Senior Workday Architect will serve as a strategic technical workday consultant for the configuration, integration, and security management of the Workday platform. This role demands deep expertise in Workday HCM, FIN, and SCM modules, with a strong focus on tenant architecture, data conversion, and compliance. The consultant will be responsible for driving platform governance, managing cross-functional integrations, and ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Configuration & Management

  • Own and manage the full lifecycle of Workday tenant configuration, including environment setup, module activation, and feature enablement.
  • Lead configuration replication across multiple tenants (e.g., end-to-end, parallel, production) ensuring consistency and auditability.
  • Oversee platform health, performance tuning, and release management in coordination with Workday and internal stakeholders.

Integration Architecture

  • Design and implement integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Cloud Connect.
  • Manage complex integrations with third-party systems including GHX, Vizient, Wells Fargo, Kariba, and G Treasury.
  • Lead SFTP-based document extraction and storage architecture for attachments across HCM and FIN modules.

Security & Compliance

  • Define and enforce Workday security roles, approval workflows, and access controls across tenants.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance and SCM teams to ensure compliance governance policies.
  • Participate in CAB (Change Advisory Board) reviews and security audits for platform changes.

Data Conversion & Reporting

  • Lead data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) efforts from legacy systems into Workday.
  • Manage custom report migration, validation, and optimization using Workday Report Writer and Prism Analytics.
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance and SCM teams to ensure accurate data mapping and historical data preservation.

Project Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as technical lead for Workday implementation phases including discovery, build, validation, and go-live.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (HR, Finance, Supply Chain, IT) and external vendors to align platform capabilities with business goals.
  • Provide training when needed to other analysts from HR, Finance and SCM departments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in Workday implementation, support, and platform management.
  • Proven expertise in Workday HCM, FIN, and SCM modules.
  • Strong proficiency in Workday Studio, EIB, XML, XSLT, REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Experience with tenant separation, clone management, and intercompany processing.
  • Deep understanding of Workday security architecture and role-based access controls.
