Job Summary

The AutoCAD Designer will be responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and models based on specifications, sketches, and concepts provided by engineers, architects, and project managers. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong technical drawing skills, and a collaborative approach to ensure all designs are accurate and comply with industry standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Drafting:
  • Develop detailed 2D drawings, schematics, and 3D models using AutoCAD software.
  • Translate design concepts, hand sketches, and verbal instructions into technical drawings.
  • Generate plans, sections, elevations, and detailed technical documentation.

Collaboration and Revision:

  • Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand and implement design specifications.
  • Review and revise existing drawings based on redlines, feedback, and design changes.
  • Ensure all designs meet client requirements, industry standards, and applicable building codes/regulations.

Documentation and Management:

  • Maintain organized digital files and documentation, including accurate drawing versions and revisions (version control).
  • Prepare drawing sets for construction, manufacturing, and permitting.
  • Assist in calculating dimensions, material quantities, and specifications as needed.

Quality and Standards:

  • Conduct quality checks on all design outputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company drafting standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest AutoCAD software features, design technologies, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven proficiency and expertise in AutoCAD (2D and 3D modeling).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and engineering data.
  • Solid understanding of drafting principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) if applicable, and standard drawing conventions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation.
