Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Master's degree in Machine design

Experience:

3~10 years of hands-on experience in the design and development of VMCs, HMCs, SPMs, Automation and Fixture Design

Know-how:

1) Machine design, development & engineering

2) Complete understanding of machine building

3) Application of DFM, DFA, DFX & FMEA

4) Theoretical engineering analyses of machine elements, rooting from foundational physics

5) Calculations such as metal cutting, forces, torque, energy, power, deflection, stress-strain, vibrations, thermal effects, etc., of child parts, sub-assemblies & structural elements

6) Working principle & selection of actuators used in machine tools, i.e., electromechanical elements, drive elements, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.

7) Mechanical properties & behavior of materials, heat treatment and surface coating

8) Geometric dimensioning & tolerancing

Tools:

1) CAD: PTC Creo preferred + Exposure to PLM

2) FEA: Mechanical, Thermal & Vibrational

Role:

i)
Design & develop
new machines, beginning with finalizing the specifications, and concluding with the launch of the product

ii)
Steer
product development cycle, through scientific study, and no-assumptions' approach

iii)
Conduct

feasibility studies,
in depth engineering & analyses of design of child parts, sub-assemblies and structures, using first principles, dynamic simulation and then through FEA tools, to define behavioral characteristics such as vibrational, thermal, ambient, and so forth, followed by simulation & analyses of complete machine

iv)
Carry out
selection, analyses & life cycle evaluation of actuators such as motors, ball-screws, guidance systems, hydraulic/pneumatic elements, pumps and so forth

v) Define & execute life cycle testing of critical parts, sub-assemblies, bought-out parts, and then overall equipment through well designed DOEs

vi)
Think
out of the box, and come up with innovative & creative ideas, continuously and consistently

vii)
Anchor
collaborative efforts with the team to achieve the goals, by executing plans in most effective & efficient manner
