Application Engineer – Protection Products

Position Overview:

Bourns is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Application Engineer to support our Protection Products division. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with cross-functional collaboration to enable successful product deployment, enhance customer experience, and support marketing and sales initiatives. The position will work across a range of Bourns products, including protection products, semi products, resistors, MOVs, and diodes.

Work Location: South Bengaluru

Qualifications
:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical application or design support role, preferably with protection products, semi products, resistors, MOVs, or diodes.
  • Hands-on experience with reference designs, circuit analysis, and system-level application of electronic components.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical, marketing, and sales teams.
  • Ability to travel for customer engagements, training, and trade shows as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of TVS diodes, fuses, varistors, and other protection components.
  • Very good organisational and communication skills
  • Experience in creating technical collateral such as datasheets, design guides, or evaluation kits.
  • Familiarity with PCB layout and simulation tools.
