We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the CIB Marketing (India) team.

Job Introduction

Role purpose

The Manager for Events plays a pivotal role in shaping, delivering, and optimising the organisation's events strategy. Working within the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) India Marketing team, the role focuses on creating an events strategy that is aligned to our global approach, to ensure consistent delivery of impactful, high-quality programmes that strengthen brand positioning, drive client engagement, and support commercial growth among our key clients.

This role will collaborate at an enterprise level in India as well as with the global CIB events community, helping coordinate, problem solve, and share best practice.

The role manages the execution of strategic events in partnership with global, regional and local marketing teams, as well as external agencies. The role is accountable for developing and deploying event toolkits, ensuring consistent execution and delivering measurable outcomes.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Events and partnerships activation

  • Develop and deliver the local event strategy in line with overarching CIB marketing objectives. Identifying opportunities, gaps and drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Create strategic platforms for global events series, to streamline and create branded properties that are identifiable globally. This will include the CIB positioning strategy for key stakeholder/clients groups and linked to the core HSBC brand.
  • Delivers the marketing of events including creatives, with the wider marketing services team, to deliver targeted marketing strategies, leveraging segmentation and personalisation to reach specific audiences more effectively.
  • Create comprehensive event toolkits (templates, playbooks, guidelines, content packs) to ensure consistent execution of events, and for virtual/digital events.
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of strategic events, including planning, creative development, stakeholder alignment, vendor management, logistics, and post-event analysis.
  • Create best in class client journeys end to end. Owning the experience from initial invitation, through to delegate experience, be that physically or digitally (through a webinar). Incorporating virtual and hybrid formats, allowing for global reach and flexibility in attendance.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Services teams to drive the content delivery (including Comms), to deliver the filming of stakeholders and delegates, incorporating the creation of podcasts, and key take-outs for wider circulation, including for social media purposes

Measurement & Insights

  • Oversee budget management for events, ensuring cost efficiency and maximising return on investment.
  • Implement best practices for pre-event promotion, on-site engagement, and post-event follow-up to enhance lead generation and client engagement.
  • Track, analyse, and report on event performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Influence and work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring cohesive marketing efforts with the client/customer at the heart of decisions
  • Build strong relationships with global, regional and local events and marketing teams, ensuring collaboration and cohesive marketing efforts
  • Collaborate with the Group Brand team to ensure all events reinforce the global brand platform and adhere to brand guidelines
  • Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement within the events function
  • Promote Agile Principles and foster a collaborative working environment that reflects HSBC's values
  • Manage relationships with external event agencies, suppliers, and strategic partners to ensure high-quality delivery and innovation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of marketing experience, with a focus on commercial marketing within global banking or financial service
  • Proven experience in planning and delivering large-scale, high-profile events
  • Strong understanding of event marketing best practices, including audience engagement, lead generation, and measurement.
  • Ensure all events comply with relevant governance, risk, and compliance standards.
  • Skilled in developing toolkits and frameworks for scalable, consistent event delivery.
  • Experience managing budgets, negotiating with suppliers, and driving cost efficiencies.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in virtual, hybrid, and in-person event formats.
  • Strong collaboration skills within global, matrixed organizations.
  • Tertiary education preferred
  • Minimum Graduation or as required for the role, whichever is higher

Additional Information

  • Mandatory to successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required.
