Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Human Resources Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing various HR functions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting our organizational goals. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to foster a positive workplace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manage recruitment processes, including job postings, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new hires.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations issues, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to HR functions, including payroll and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to support corporate accounting functions such as accounts payable and receivable.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on HR policies, financial concepts, and accounting software usage (e.g., Sage, Xero).
  • Mentor junior HR staff and provide support in their professional development.
  • Analyze financial data to assist in forecasting HR-related expenses and budgeting.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial management principles, and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, Xero) and financial report writing.
  • Familiarity with auditing practices, tax experience, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills for financial analysis, cash flow analysis, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Understanding of wills, trusts & estate law as it pertains to employee benefits is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and prepare comprehensive reports for management review.
  • Strong communication skills for effective mentoring and collaboration across departments.
