We are hiring for Manager / Deputy Manager - Capex Purchase for a leading specialty chemical company. The company is headquartered in Hyderabad and has multiple manufacturing plants pan India.

Position: Manager / Deputy Manager - Capex Purchase

Location: Hyderabad

Position Purpose: Responsible for executing end-to-end procurement of mechanical equipment, utility systems, and EPC / project-related services for brownfield and greenfield capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end sourcing for all mechanical & utility CAPEX packages including 1)Reactors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers 2) Storage tanks (SS/MS), pumps, compressors, blowers 3) Boilers, cooling towers, chillers, air compressors 4) Water treatment systems (RO, DM, ETP/STP), HVAC systems 5) Piping, valves, mechanical seals, and spare packages
  • Develop procurement strategies aligned with project timelines, budgets, and technical specifications.
  • Prepare RFPs/RFQs, bid evaluation matrices, and techno-commercial evaluations.
  • Conduct vendor capability assessment, quality checks, and facility audits when required.
  • Negotiate prices, delivery terms, warranty agreements, LDs, and after-sales support.
  • Coordinate logistics, customs clearance (if imported), and site delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to industry codes (ASME, API, IS standards), statutory norms, and internal QA/QC.
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with safety, sustainability, and ethical sourcing standards.

Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, utilities, and plant engineering.
  • Excellent techno-commercial evaluation and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with project procurement processes (EPC, EPCM).
  • Strong analytical, cost modeling, and vendor assessment skills.
  • Proficient in SAP/ERP procurement modules.
  • Good communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. (Mechanical)

Nature of Experience:

  • 7 to 10 years experience in CAPEX procurement in Specialty Chemicals / Petrochemicals / Pharma industry.
  • Strong experience in mechanical, utility, and process-equipment CAPEX packages.
  • Experience in greenfield/brownfield project procurement.
