We are now seeking a Regional Senior Site Nurse to join our Health, Safety and Risk team across both Tropicana and Sunrise Dam Gold Mines. Accountable to the Superintendent: Health and Hygiene.
Previous Mining experience isn't a prerequisite, however remote sole nurse practitioner experience will be highly regarded. A focus on flexibility to cover site nurse rosters and shifts, attention to detail, and continual improvement, teamwork, organisational skills, and sound clinical skills will be highly regarded.
This role is mostly site-based on a 4/3 roster. Some work in Perth will be required on a 5/2 roster. The expectation is to be capable of covering leave, with on site clinical coverage, at times, on short notice.
We operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.
Accountabilities:
- Primary medical and emergency treatment working closely with on-site Physiotherapist and remote medical practitioner support.
- Provide timely reporting and updates on outcome and status of injuries and illnesses
- Reviewed medical information providing guidance on fitness to return to work. Management of the medical centre and equipment including compliance, calibrations, servicing and governance auditing.
- Adhere to Medication protocols as per SASA and the Code of Practice for Health Service Permits.
- Conduct or co-ordinate alcohol and drug screening, off site referral for lung function testing and other on-site health testing/assessments as required.
- Prepare and maintain medical and health related records and registers and relevant reports/scorecards.
- Review pre-placement and other medical assessments.
- Orientate and support contracting Nurses as required for Shutdowns.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual Health budget for capital and operational requirements to achieve the required targets.
- Future proofing the capability of Health/Emergency Response capability to meet with the changing business requirements to deliver the LoM strategy.
- Support the development and maintenance of processes for the work group creating a culture of continuous improvement to lift the efficiency and effectiveness of the work outputs.
About You

To be considered, we would like to see you have:
- Previous experience as Registered Nurse, with emergency experience
- Intermediate Life Support (ILS)
- Experience and confidence to deliver health related training to ERT teams
- Proficiency in health and medical databases and Microsoft Office tools
- Broad understanding of health and safety and hazard and risk management processes
- Current full West Australian "C" class drivers licence
- Existing and ongoing permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
- The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
- Experience in injury management process and knowledge of Western Australian Workers Compensation System (desirable)
- Specimen Collection Authorised Drug Screen Collection Officer (desirable)
- Registered Nurse (RN) (NMBA/AHPRA registration) CRANA certification (desirable)
