Job ObjectiveTo ensure smooth functioning of the maintenance department with the overall objective of ensuring preventive and planned maintenance activities, meeting cost savings and safety targets in order to ensure that there is no production loss due to non-availability of machinery.

To improvise on existing processes/systems to enhance plant and equipment life

Primary ResponsibilitiesFinancial Participate in the budgeting exercise and provide inputs on maintenance cost estimate and other utility costs

Monitor maintenance budget utilization and analyze variance to take corrective action

¢ Analyze maintenance costs based on usage of spares and consumables and identify areas of improvement

¢ Encourage cost reduction through effective utilization of spares and materials/ identifying initiatives to reduce breakdown and wastagesCustomer¢ Support all major plant shutdowns and overhauls/ breakdowns in conjunction with production departments to ensure minimum plant downtimeProcess¢ Develop the short term and long term maintenance strategy for the Plant in line with the overall production plan

¢ Formulate end to end maintenance planning framework and prepare preventive maintenance in alignment with the production targets and schedules

¢ Plan for effective utility (air, water, electricity, air conditioning, chilling systems, air washers, piping, ducting, lighting) consumption and control

¢ Oversee appropriate planning for critical spares/ consumables required as per the Maintenance plan in consultation with the Section Heads to ensure availability

¢ Initiate corrective actions for all unplanned breakdowns in minimum time to prevent any production loss due to in availability of equipment

¢ Develop efficient and effective internal control systems, to keep track of the performance of equipments and take necessary actions to improve efficiency

¢ Lead implementation of key process improvement/ business excellence initiatives to be taken-up (such as ISO, TPM, TQM etc) from time to time

¢ Lead coordination with PE department for installation & commissioning of new machinery/ repairs across the Plant

¢ Liaison with government agencies and other regulatory authorities like Electricity Board, Pollution Control Board etc for conforming to statutory norms

¢ Ensure 100 % safety for men and machines from undue accidents happening due to machine health, installation and operations

¢ Take overall responsibility to ensure adherence to Safety standards by all employees. Also ensures that the machines are provided with Safety Gears as per the specifications

¢ Ensure usage of SAP/ERP modules in maintenance for effective recording and monitoring of maintenance dataLearning & Development¢ Drive capability building and development of high potential talent within the maintenance team

¢ Provide guidance, counseling and feedback to subordinates on their performance to ensure a motivated and committed team

¢ Nominate subordinates actively for the people development initiatives like trainings, workshops across the organization etc.
