We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Project and Programme Analyst
Business: Risk & Compliance
Principal responsibilities
- Demonstrates working knowledge of Programme / Project Framework, supporting the creation of detailed plans including key activities and milestones
- Establishes and updates quality procedures, manages internal ad-hoc quality audits, reports quality variance and suggests corrective actions; seeks opportunity to improve quality procedures
- Supports the Programme/Project Manager and Business representatives in defining required scope, quality, cost and effort
- Works closely with Programme/Project Manager to contribute to establishment and maintenance of the plan, ensures programme/project activities are aligned to the quality process and governance
- Tracks progress against the plan, looking ahead and removing roadblocks to delivery; asks questions when they do not understand, takes ownership of problems and timely escalates when needed (remaining calm, knowing when to escalate, escalates where possible with solutions)
- Manages change requests ensuring impact assessed for scope, time, budget, effort and quality; provides the sustainable value to the organisation by contributing to the efficiency improvement in programme/project
- Has good knowledge of risks/ issues/dependencies management techniques. Supports programme/project manager in identifying new risks/ issues/dependencies; Tracks risks/ issues/dependencies through appropriate tracking tools, involving key stakeholders/members of the programme/project team as appropriate
- Maintains accurate financial information for multiple programmes/projects; analyses financial data for single project / programme
- Drives creative thinking amongst peers to encourage thinking beyond the immediate operational consideration, prioritises and plans carefully that all deliverables are achieved and approaches are carefully thought, demonstrates a keen interest of bigger picture
- Facilitates development of communication and reporting strategy, coordinates between stakeholders for progress reviews, key decisions, documentation and approvals
- Provides both verbal and written communication supervising and leading the project/ programme to ensure that the goal is achieved
- Proactively and effectively manages own time and workload, advocates to team the importance of project pace to achieve successful delivery
- Manages the pace and operating rhythm -actively moves programme/project team along the delivery journey with pace and enthusiasm
- Keeps focus on the medium and long term goals and the Group's values particularly when under short term
Operational Performance
- Assists with the development and monitoring of a well-defined programme/project plan, identifying the key milestones, assists in assigning role/task responsibilities cooperating closely with stakeholders
- Supports Programme / Project Manager in resources management activities
- Works with the Programme / Project manager to ensure programme/project team follows all quality assurance processes, HSBC Change Framework and uses Group standard tools
- Works with Programme / Project Manager to provide project governance and compliance, identifying and raising issues when necessary, monitoring tollgates and budgets as well as maintaining programme / project change control
- Tracks and controls programme/project progress and performance at clearly defined points in the process ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget; anticipating potential risks and issues, assisting with putting mitigating actions into place to prevent delivery stalling and escalating as appropriate
- Is able to prioritise tasks to deliver on time, ensuring high quality of deliverables; understands programme/project dependencies; is able to manage workload with limited supervision; looks ahead to remove delivery roadblocks
- Demonstrates good understanding of analytical tools and techniques to prepare and analyse management reports. Assists Programme / Project Manager in identifying factors that are putting the programme off track, monitor and share progress with stakeholders
- Supports the Programme / Project Manager with closure activities, including post project review and handover
- Produces deliverables of a high quality (well structured, insightful, no errors) and with sufficient review time and appropriate response to feedback

- Monitoring and controlling projects to meet timescales and to ensure highest quality necessary in a competitive marketplace
- Tracking benefits (cost reduction, revenue increase, strategic goals) set out in the business case

- Focusing on dependencies between programmes/projects
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of HSBC Change Frameworks, methodologies and best practice techniques
- Strong knowledge of the project/programme/change lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of banking/HSBC and understanding of how change drives benefits for HSBC, its customers and other stakeholders
Experience
- Experience of working in a change environment as PMO/PM
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and solid experience in face to face presentation
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, Group standard tools (Clarity, Sharepoint, GPDM, etc)
