Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The role requires an in-depth understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and update the company's general ledger, ensuring accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, track payments, and ensure timely collection of receivables and payment of payables.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports) in accordance with company policy and accounting standards.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitor actual performance against projections, and provide variance analysis.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns (sales tax, corporate tax, etc.) and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Audit Support: Support internal and external auditors during audits, providing requested documentation and explanations.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations for cost savings or operational improvements.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting regulations and best practices.
  • Other Duties: Perform other accounting duties as needed, such as payroll processing, expense reports, and financial system management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification is a plus).
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles (industry-specific experience may be required).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP), Microsoft Excel, and other financial tools.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial work.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with team members, management, and external partners.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make actionable recommendations.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
