Investment Analyst (Direct Equity Focus)- Mumbai

We are seeking a highly motivated Chartered Accountant (first attempt preferred) with a strong passion for direct equity investing in long-only strategies. The role offers exposure to investment research, portfolio monitoring, and strategic projects across asset classes, with a primary emphasis on detailed equity analysis and fundamental research with proficiency in AI tools and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Research & Analysis

  • Conduct fundamental research and valuation of listed companies for long-only equity investments.
  • Assist in evaluating, selecting, and monitoring ETFs, Mutual Funds, AIFs, Private Equity, and direct equity holdings.
  • Prepare detailed investment recommendations with focus on sector trends, competitive positioning, and earnings forecasts.

Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain investment trackers, performance dashboards, and exposure summaries.
  • Monitor portfolio holdings versus benchmarks and prepare periodic performance reports for internal stakeholders.

Strategic Projects

  • Support research on asset allocation strategies and new investment products.
  • Contribute to thematic reports on emerging market opportunities, sector deep-dives, and macroeconomic developments impacting equity markets.

Candidate Profile

Education & Credentials

  • Chartered Accountant (first-attempt pass preferred).
  • CFA Level I/II cleared or in progress (optional but preferred).
  • Some prior experience in equity research required

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong passion for equity research, particularly long-only investment strategies.
  • Proficiency in financial statement analysis, ratio analysis, and valuation methodologies (DCF, comparable, sector multiples).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of data into clear investment views.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
