About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manual Precision Assembler to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with machined aluminium parts and the ability to work with micron-level tolerances. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, a strong mechanical engineering foundation, and experience in precision assembly or high-accuracy manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual assembly of precision aluminium components, ensuring compliance with micron-level specifications.
  • Use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM reports to verify part accuracy.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, tolerance stacks, and assembly instructions.
  • Conduct fine alignment, positioning, and fitment of machined parts using jigs, fixtures, and custom tools.
  • Identify part defects, dimensional variation, and assembly issues; escalate abnormalities to the engineering or QA team.
  • Maintain proper handling and cleanliness of precision components to prevent contamination, scratches, or dimensional changes.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain documentation related to assembly, inspection, and rework.
  • Collaborate closely with machinists, quality engineers, and production supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for accuracy, assembly repeatability, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in precision assembly, machining, or high-accuracy mechanical manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, machining processes, and tolerance control.
  • Ability to work confidently with micron-level tolerances (not just millimetres).
  • Hands-on expertise with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
  • Excellent hand–eye coordination, dexterity, and focus for delicate assembly operations.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a controlled, quality-driven environment.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with aluminium machining, linear motion assemblies, or high-precision mechanical systems (e.g., automation components, robotics, semiconductor equipment, aerospace parts).
  • Basic knowledge of CMM operation or metrology.
  • Exposure to cleanroom or precision manufacturing environments.
