Job SummaryGM -Contracts is responsible for overseeing the entirelifecycle of contracts related to project management. This includes developingand implementing contract management processes, ensuring compliance, leadingnegotiations, handling dispute resolution, and maintaining strong relationshipswith stakeholders. The role ensures effective contract execution whileminimizing risk and maximizing value for the organization. Key Responsibilities• ContractManagement Process:o Develop and implement effective ContractManagement Strategies, SOPs, and processes for project execution. o Review contracts in a timely manner and recommend effectiveimplementation strategies.• ContractDevelopment & Negotiation:o Collaborate with Cross -Functional and LegalTeams to develop model contracts and General Conditions of Contracts (GCCs).o Negotiate contract terms, finalize tenders, andobtain management approval for awarding work packages.• Cost& Risk Management:o Lead efforts to develop cost -effectivestrategies and risk management plans for project implementation.o Monitor contract performance to ensurecompliance with contractual terms and organizational policies.• StakeholderManagement:o Establish and maintain strong relationships withstakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth execution of contract terms.• TeamLeadership:o Guide and support the team in procurement andtimely clearance of materials and services.o Lead a team of 5 to 10 professionals in contractmanagement, ensuring productivity and compliance with processes.• ContractPerformance & Compliance:o Ensure that all contracts and agreements arereviewed, processed, and adhered to according to the defined contractmanagement process. o Monitor performance, compliance, and adherence to thecontract management plan, risk management plan, and organizational policies.• Support& Advisory:o Advise Project Managers on improvingcontractor/vendor performance, efficiencies, and cost -effective solutions.• DisputeResolution:o Manage and lead dispute resolution processes,including arbitration or other legal mechanisms.o Review claims and counterclaims prepared by theteam and ensure proper submission to clients or contractors.• ContractClosure:o Ensure timely and effective closure of contractsand associated documentation.• SeniorManagement Interaction:o Regularly update senior management on contractprogress, challenges, and seek strategic direction when necessary. RequirementsQualifications & Requirements• EducationalQualifications:o Degree in Engineering or a related field(Essential). o Degree in Law or similar qualification (Preferred).• Experience:o Minimum of 18 years of experience in ContractManagement within the construction or project -based industry.o Proven experience in managing multidisciplinaryteams of 5 to 10 members.• Skills:o Proficient in MS Project and MS Office. o Strong knowledge of delay analysis and methodsstatements in construction projects. o Expertise in contract negotiation, dispute resolution,and claim management. o Excellent written and verbal communication skills. o Strong leadership, decision -making, and interpersonalskills.o Ability to effectively manage risks and ensureproject continuity. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)• Timeliness and effectiveness in contract reviewsand implementations.• Successful negotiation of contract terms andobtaining management approvals.• Effective monitoring and management of contractcompliance and performance.• Successful handling of disputes and claimsresolution.• Ability to lead a team and maintain strongrelationships with stakeholders.• Achievement of contract closure withintimelines.• Contribution to cost -effective projectimplementation.
