Position: Manager IT

Organization: NL Dalmia Educational Society

Location: Mira Road (E)

Role Overview

The Manager – IT will be responsible for the complete management, upkeep, and security of IT infrastructure across NL Dalmia Educational Society institutions. This includes oversight of hardware, software, servers, cloud systems, networks, and data security. The role also requires proactive preventive maintenance, vendor coordination, user support, and strategic IT planning to ensure seamless operations with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Manage and maintain hardware inventory, insurance, and upkeep.
  • Oversee software inventory including licenses, keys, serial numbers, usage, and updates.
  • Ensure timely application of patches, virus definitions, and other security updates.
  • Maintain performance and security of both cloud and local servers.
  • Monitor and ensure high performance of internet leased lines.

Maintenance & Data Security

  • Schedule and conduct regular preventive maintenance.
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly data backup protocols.
  • Implement and monitor robust security measures to safeguard data and prevent pilferage.
  • Reduce downtime by attending to IT-related calls promptly and effectively.

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Handle procurement of hardware and software through approved vendors.
  • Coordinate with ERP vendors for effective implementation of modules.
  • Liaise with software, hardware, and outsourced vendors for troubleshooting and smooth operations.

User Support & Training

  • Conduct regular user training to minimize troubleshooting requirements.
  • Provide guidance on proper use of IT equipment and problem-solving techniques.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain complete documentation of IT processes, purchases, budgets, and sanctions.
  • Maintain an IT activity calendar (license renewals, insurance, scheduled maintenance, etc.).
  • Ensure timely renewal of domains and other IT-related services.
  • Submit quarterly IT performance and compliance reports in MRM.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 7–10 years of experience in IT management with proven expertise in infrastructure and security.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, cloud technologies, ERP systems, and data security protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and user-training abilities.
  • Proficiency in documentation, planning, and reporting.
