Job Description

We are looking for a Safety Officer / Welfare Officer to oversee and implement workplace safety, employee welfare, and statutory compliance in our plywood manufacturing plant. The role requires strong knowledge of Factories Act, statutory welfare provisions, and industrial safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor health & safety policies in compliance with Factories Act and ISO standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits.
  • Ensure use of PPEs and adherence to safety guidelines across all departments.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, and take corrective actions.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety training & awareness programs for employees.
  • Ensure compliance with labour welfare provisions – canteen, restrooms, medical facilities, etc.
  • Maintain and update all safety & statutory registers.
  • Liaise with Factory Inspector / Labour Department and handle statutory inspections.
  • Promote a culture of safety and well-being in the workplace.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  1. Strong knowledge of Factories Act, Labour Welfare Acts & EHS norms
  2. Experience in manufacturing industry safety & welfare (plywood/wood-based preferred)
  3. Good communication in Hindi & English (mandatory)
  4. Knowledge of ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 / EMS will be an added advantage
  5. System knowledge – MS Office, Safety Audit tools, ERP knowledge

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Mandatory: Degree/Diploma in Industrial Safety / Fire & Safety / Labour Welfare as per statutory norms.
  • 3–8 years of experience in safety & welfare roles (preferably in manufacturing / plywood / building materials).
  • Hindi speaking mandatory.
