JOB TITLE: Director, Enterprise Architect – Market (BG/BU) and Foundation Domain

LOCATION: UniOps, Bangalore

Role Purpose

The Director of Enterprise Architecture for Market (BG/BU) and Foundation plays a pivotal role in shaping Unilever's technology landscape across global markets and foundational domains. This role ensures strategic alignment between business goals and technology capabilities, enabling differentiated growth, simplification, and resilience across platforms as well play key anchor in translating global product strategies into market-specific technology roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities:

Foundation Enterprise Architecture

• Own architecture for foundational technologies including Data & Analytics, cloud infrastructure, Network, Artificial Intelligence, Hyper Automation and employee platforms.
• Define the destination architecture for foundational tech and create roadmap for the simplification of tools and technologies across the foundations.
• Collaborate with Hyperscalers and strategic vendors to optimize foundational capabilities as well understand the Hyperscalers roadmap.
• Create framework and architecture for Agentic AI in-line with Mirai Architecture

Market Enterprise Architecture (BG/BU)

• Translate global product strategies into market-specific technology roadmaps.
• Lead regional technology strategies, ensuring alignment with local regulatory, geopolitical, and business needs.
• Govern deviations from standard architecture where differentiation drives revenue, margin, or compliance and put app rationalization agenda working with product team.

Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Define and enforce architecture principles, reference models, guardrails, and capability frameworks.
• Develop and implement the buy-vs-build framework, especially for AI/ML and agentic technologies.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with Foundation team – Tech and Data Foundation to co-create scalable, secure, and future-fit solutions.
• Represent EA in design councils and strategic forums to align on technology decisions and deviations.
• Work closely with EA for product domains to ensure a right sized Unilever architecture by driving synergies across GDT.
• Engage with BG CDIO teams to ensure that tech roadmaps and decisions are clearly communicated, and genuine BG CDIO requirements are factored in.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven 15+ years' experience in enterprise architecture across global markets and foundational domains.
• Deep understanding of architecture governance, solution design, and strategic technology planning.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills across business and IT.
• Experience with cloud optimization, AI/ML strategy, and digital transformation.
