Responsibilities

Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Ensure all EHS policies are communicated effectively and adhered to across the organization.

Risk Management:

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and oversee emergency response plans and procedures.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international EHS regulations.
  • Prepare and submit EHS reports to regulatory bodies and senior management.

Training and Development:

  • Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of EHS practices through workshops and seminars.

Incident Investigation:

  • Lead investigations into EHS incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
  • Maintain records of incidents and track corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Monitor EHS performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in EHS practices.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote EHS initiatives.
  • Represent the organization in EHS-related forums and committees.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in EHS management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS policies and programs.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and manage emergency situations.
  • Proficiency in EHS management software and tools.

Certifications:

  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is highly desirable.
