About the Role
The Junior MongoDB DBA will assist in managing MongoDB environments, including monitoring, basic administration, and scripting, while gaining exposure to large-scale distributed
database systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support MongoDB instances in development, staging, and production environments.
- Perform daily health checks, log monitoring, and backup verifications.
- Assist with index management, basic query tuning, and schema updates.
- Write shell scripts to automate standard maintenance tasks.
- Document operational procedures and maintain updated runbooks.
- Participate in incident response under senior supervision.
- Continuously learn MongoDB best practices and new features.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3-4 years of experience in MongoDB administration or support.
- Basic knowledge of sharding, replication, and schema design.
- Proficiency in shell scripting and basic programming knowledge.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and command line tools.
- Eagerness to learn, good attention to detail, and disciplined documentation habits.
