Job Title: General Manager-Manufacturing

Job Summary:

The General Manager Manufacturing is responsible for leading the end-to-end manufacturing operations of precision-engineered equipment for the Oil & Gas segment. The role ensures timely delivery, cost efficiency, world-class quality and safety while adhering to stringent international standards. This position involves managing production, planning, process engineering, supply chain coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve organizational excellence. Key

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with business goals and customer requirements.
• Lead manufacturing operations for precision-engineered components, assemblies, and equipment.
  • Drive productivity, cost optimization, and operational excellence across the value chain.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Engineering, SCM, etc) to ensure seamless execution.
• Support business growth by aligning capacity planning with future demand.
• Oversee machining, assembly, testing, and finishing operations for high-precision components.
• Ensure adherence to API, ISO and other relevant standards.
• Drive effective production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet delivery timelines.
  • Monitor production KPIs efficiency, cycle time, OEE, throughput, and utilization.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen practices to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
• Introduce automation, digital manufacturing tools & practices for productivity enhancement.
• Lead root cause analysis, corrective & preventive actions for process deviations.
• Optimize shopfloor layouts and workflows for maximum efficiency.
• Ensure the highest standards of precision, accuracy, and zero-defect manufacturing.
• Collaborate with the Quality team to meet internal and external quality requirements.
• Ensure readiness for customer, third-party, and regulatory inspections.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing workforce including engineers, supervisors, and operators.
• Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous learning.
• Identify training needs and upskill the workforce in advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Build succession planning for critical roles within manufacturing.

Preferred Educational Background:

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (or related field).

Required Experience:

• 18–22 years of experience in precision engineering/manufacturing, with at least 5–7 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong exposure to precision equipment manufacturing, machining and assembly. Preferably from the oil & gas industry.
• Hands-on experience with CNC/VMC operations, tooling, fixtures, and machining optimization.
• Knowledge of manufacturing standards (ISO, API, etc.) and certifications.
• Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and modern manufacturing practices.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership with proven ability to manage large teams and complex operations.
• Excellent knowledge of machining processes, manufacturing systems, capacity planning, and process engineering.
• Analytical and result-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
