Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a seasoned Trade Compliance Senior analyst/specialist with 5+ years of specialized experience in trade compliance operations, and ensuring compliance with SCOMET, US and Non-US regulations. The ideal candidate will support and execute classification activities, Internal audits, Program management processes, and ensure full compliance with global import/export activities. This role requires to ensure the effectiveness of policy implementation, development of Control plans, and acting as a subject matter expert across business units.

Job responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert (SME) in Sanctions. Embargoes, Denied/Restricted party screenings and due diligence.
  • Strong understanding about the classification of technology, software, and hardware under the SCOMET, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN), and other relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., ITAR, EAR).
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to manage data from multiple sources and interpret requirements and regulations to management and in teams' settings with cross- functional groups.
  • Drive automation and digitization of compliance processes using BI. SQL, Trade automation. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce compliance risk.
  • Ensure strict adherence to global trade regulations and internal corporate policies governing cross-border data transfers, exports, and re-exports. Having imports experience is an advantage.
  • Drive the focal network, Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of classification analysts or specialists; support capacity planning and workload balancing.
  • Support internal/external audits and provide documentation or rationale supporting classification decisions.
  • Supporting the Investigation & Disclosure lead in performing root cause analysis, and ensuring the timely closure of corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in international Trade, Engineering, Supply Chain, Law, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in trade compliance and having Strong knowledge of SCOMET U.S. and international trade regulations, including EAR, ITAR, and encryption controls.
  • Proficiency in classifications (Commodity, Technology and Software), Denied party screenings, Technology control plans etc,.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and lead cross-functional classification initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulations in simple terms.
