Job Title: Lead Quality Control Engineer Position Summary We are seeking a Lead Quality Control Engineer to ensure the delivery of high-quality products. You will be responsible for leading the QA team, planning test strategies, coordinating test activities across projects, and directly contributing to manual (and possibly automated) testing. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical and team management skills. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy
• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of QA/Test Engineers.
• Define and implement quality control strategies, test plans, and best practices across the software development lifecycle.
• Act as the primary QA representative in planning, sprint grooming, and release readiness meetings.
• Drive improvements in test coverage, defect detection rate, and overall product quality. Testing Execution
• Review and validate requirements, specifications, and technical design documents.
• Create, review, and execute manual and/or automated test cases.
• Perform various types of testing including: o Functional and regression testing o System and integration testing o UAT coordination o Smoke and sanity testing o Exploratory and ad-hoc testing Defect Management
• Identify, log, and track defects with clear documentation and follow through to resolution.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues. Team Collaboration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product managers, developers, DevOps) to ensure smooth delivery pipelines and clear communication of quality status.
• Assist in test environment setup and maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to compliance, security, or regulatory requirements (as needed). Required Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software testing, with 2+ years in a lead or senior role.
• Solid experience with manual testing methodologies; familiarity with automation frameworks is a plus.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC, QA best practices, and defect lifecycle.
• Proficiency in tools such as: o Test management: TestRail, Zephyr, qTest, etc. o Bug tracking: JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar. o Documentation: Confluence, Google Docs, etc. Preferred Qualifications
• ISTQB or other professional QA certifications.
• Experience testing web, desktop, and mobile applications.
• Familiarity with API testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools and understanding of DevOps practices.
• Some experience or familiarity with automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, etc.) is a bonus, though not required. Key Competencies
