Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead Quality Control Engineer to drive the delivery of high-quality products. This hands-on leadership role involves managing the QA team, defining test strategies, coordinating cross-project test activities, and directly contributing to manualand potentially automatedtesting.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of QA/Test Engineers.
  • Define and implement quality control strategies, test plans, and best practices across the software development lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary QA representative in planning, sprint grooming, and release readiness meetings.
  • Drive improvements in test coverage, defect detection rates, and overall product quality.

Testing Execution

  • Review and validate requirements, specifications, and technical design documents.
  • Create, review, and execute manual and/or automated test cases.

  • Perform various types of testing, including:

  • Functional and regression testing

  • System and integration testing
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) coordination
  • Smoke and sanity testing

  • Exploratory and ad-hoc testing

  • Identify, log, and track defects with clear documentation and follow-through to resolution.

  • Analyze test results, identify root causes, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and DevOps teams to ensure smooth delivery pipelines and transparent quality status reporting.
  • Assist in test environment setup and maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance, security, and regulatory requirements as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of software testing experience, including at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
  • Strong background in manual testing methodologies; familiarity with automation frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, QA best practices, and the defect lifecycle.

  • Proficiency with tools such as:

  • Test management: TestRail, Zephyr, qTest, etc.

  • Bug tracking: JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.

  • Documentation: Confluence, Google Docs, etc.

  • ISTQB or other professional QA certifications.

  • Experience testing web, desktop, and mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
  • Basic SQL knowledge for database validation.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools and an understanding of DevOps practices.
  • Working knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) is a bonus.
