About the Orange Movement

Launched in 2022, the Orange Movement is a global initiative led by IIX to integrate gender equality and climate action into financial markets. At its core are Orange Bonds—the world's first gender-lens and climate-focused asset class—designed to:

  • Mobilize US$ billion in capital markets by 2030
  • Positively impact 100 million women, girls, and gender minorities
  • Position women and gender minorities as leaders in climate resilience and adaptation

The Orange Movement advances this vision through capital mobilization, policy reform, global partnerships, training, and advocacy. Supported by a three-year anchor grant from Australia's DFAT, it now seeks a Senior Director who can scale the Movement into a global financial force.

Role Summary

The Senior Director of the Orange Movement will provide strategic vision, entrepreneurial drive, and organizational leadership to expand the Movement's reach, resources, and influence globally.

This senior leadership role will:

  • Build and manage cross-functional teams within IIX and across global partners.
  • Push forward Orange Capital transactions across markets, replicating successes such as Orange Bonds in Asia, Africa, and the U.S.
  • Spearhead training and market-building initiatives like the Orange Bond Verifier Training to embed Orange standards globally.
  • Lead coalition-building, fundraising, and advocacy, ensuring the Movement sets the benchmark for inclusive, climate-smart finance.

This position is ideal for a visionary leader with deep networks across finance, philanthropy, and development—and the entrepreneurial capacity to mobilize a global movement.

2. Capital Mobilization & Market Growth

  • Drive the pipeline of Orange Capital transactions across multiple markets.
  • Ensure through partnership and advocacy that Orange Bonds, Orange Bond Labeling, Orange Guarantees, Orange Seal etc are replicated globally, creating demonstration effects and new investor classes.

3. Training & Market Building

  • Lead the Orange Bond Verifier Training program and similar certification tracks.
  • Expand training offerings for investors, regulators, and issuers to build global confidence in Orange instruments.
