Product Data Analyst

Job Summary: We are seeking a Product Data Analyst to join Product & Innovation team for our client. Our client is a data intelligence company collecting and analysing global data for finance and insurance sectors. The team work closely with customers and colleagues across the business to understand market needs and deliver industry leading web-based products and services.

Our business is constantly evolving in terms of innovation and technology solutions and the Data Product Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand organisational data and create robust data models, reports, and dashboards for both external and internal use. Your expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-level BI solutions will be crucial in developing new & innovative products for end-customer use.

Skills/Experience:

• 3 to 5 Years of experience in Power BI development roles or similar.

Those without hands-on, working knowledge of Power BI need not apply.

• Data Modeling: Designed and implemented efficient and scalable data models that support reporting and analytics requirements.
• Data Transformation: Used Power Query (or similar tools) for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to prepare data for analysis.
• Data Analytics: Demonstrable skill in performing data analysis on large datasets and preferably worked in data engineering roles to analyse and transform data for data science.
• Report Creation: Built interactive and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights, and developed complex DAX calculations to meet business logic and reporting needs.
• Power BI REST/Client APIs: A huge plus if have a good understanding of Power BI REST and Client APIs for embedding, automating, and managing reports and datasets.
• Software Development & Embedding: Worked closely with software development teams to design and implement software solutions in agile development process.
• Performance Optimization: A good understanding of optimizing Power BI reports and data models for performance and scalability.
• Documentation: Created and maintained comprehensive documentation for data models, reports, and processes in past roles.
• Collaboration: Worked closely with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the successful delivery of BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be part of the product team responsible to developing data solutions for our clients using power bi and other relevant data & reporting technologies.
• Developing internal business analytics on product usage, customer segmentation, feedback analysis, product performance and customer sentiment.
• Exploring new and existing frameworks/techniques for maximising product value from existing datasets for end customers.
• Cross-functional collaboration between engineering, data and product teams to develop new data solutions using advanced BI techniques
• Liaising with Marketing and Sales teams to document and advocate product value for the end customer.
• Provide training and support to internal teams and end-users on report features and usage best practices.

• Customer-focussed Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (ideally in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field).
• Preferably having formal qualifications in Power BI and Data Analysis

Other Technical Skills:

• Familiarity with SQL and data integration techniques.
• Experience with Azure services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database).
• Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with other BI tools and technologies is a plus
