Shift Time: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM (IST)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Data Analyst with 7-10 years of professional experience to join our team in Mumbai. This is a crucial role focused on data governance, data quality, and regulatory reporting within the private equity and capital markets domain. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong analytical mindset, capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team. This is a hybrid role, requiring a presence in our Mumbai office with the flexibility to work from home on designated days. The initial contract is for six months, with a high likelihood of extension based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Governance & Data Lineage:
• Lead and execute data governance initiatives to ensure the integrity, security, and usability of data across the organization.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive data lineage documentation to track the flow of data from its source to its final use, ensuring transparency and auditability.
• Work closely with data owners and stewards to define and enforce data policies, standards, and procedures.
• Establish and monitor key data governance metrics to measure the effectiveness of data policies.
• Data Quality Management:
• Design, implement, and maintain data quality frameworks and controls.
• Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues, working with business and technical teams to address root causes.
• Develop and run SQL queries to perform data validation, reconciliation, and profiling.
• Create and maintain data quality dashboards and reports to provide visibility into data health.
• Private Equity / Capital Markets Analysis:
• Leverage deep domain knowledge of Private Equity and/or Capital Markets to support business objectives.
• Analyze complex financial datasets, including fund performance, portfolio company metrics, and market trends.
• Provide data-driven insights to support investment decisions, portfolio management, and strategic planning.
• Translate business requirements from stakeholders into technical data analysis tasks.
• Regulatory Reporting:
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely regulatory reports as required by financial authorities (e.g., SEBI, RBI, etc.).
• Ensure all data used for regulatory reporting is compliant with internal data governance policies and external regulations.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to stay abreast of new regulatory requirements and implement necessary data changes.
• Technical Skills & Collaboration:
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources for analysis and reporting.
• Work with large and unstructured datasets to derive meaningful insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business users, developers, and product managers, to deliver data solutions.
• Participate in the design and development of data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 7-10 years of proven experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a similar data-focused role.
• Mandatory Skills:
• Data Governance: Extensive experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks.
• Data Lineage: Hands-on experience mapping and documenting data lineage.
• Data Quality: Strong background in data quality management, including profiling, cleansing, and validation.
• SQL: Expert-level proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
• Domain Expertise (Required for 2 of 4):
• Private Equity / Capital Markets: In-depth knowledge of financial products, data, and business processes within these sectors.
• Regulatory Reporting: Proven experience in preparing and submitting regulatory reports for the financial industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Experience with data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis is a plus.
• Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies is an added advantage.
• Soft Skills:
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Contractual / Temporary

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ₹120, ₹150,000.00 per month
