Role and Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Execution :

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for transformer components (e.g., core steel, copper conductors, insulation, bushings, tank, tap changers).

  • Drive localization and supplier diversification to mitigate risk and optimize cost.

  • Lead negotiations for long-term agreements, pricing, and service-level commitments.

Supplier Management:

  • Build strong partnerships with global and local suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, and compliance.

  • Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews using GEV's Supplier Quality and Compliance framework.

  • Implement risk management strategies for critical commodities.

Cost & Value Engineering

  • Deliver annual cost-out targets through productivity projects, design-to-cost initiatives, and lean sourcing.

  • Monitor commodity trends and implement hedging or forward-buying strategies where applicable.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance to align sourcing strategies with NPI and production schedules.

  • Support factory capacity planning and ensure material availability for on-time delivery.

Compliance & Sustainability

  • Ensure adherence to GE Vernova's integrity, EHS, and regulatory standards.

  • Drive sustainability initiatives in sourcing, including recycled materials and carbon footprint reduction.

​Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical/Instrumentation controls ) from an accredited university

  • Min 15+ years of experience in Sourcing & Functional Management

  • Working knowledge of SAP ERP system.

  • Strong influencing abilities to effectively co-ordinate for strategic initiatives and secure buy-in from key stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and solve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead sourcing programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

  • Accountability with a result-oriented attitude.

  • Drive benchmarking, best practices, and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to travel within India and worldwide.
