Requirements

• Expertise with Historical events/topics taught at the school level (ICSE & CBSE)
• Expertise with Indian Historical events/topics taught at school level (ICSE & CBSE)
• Proficiency/fluency in English language (writing, speaking and reading)
• Eye for detail and commitment to academic rigour
• Creativity in transforming traditional history content into engaging digital learning experiences
• Deep subject expertise in Indian and World History, historical methods, and historiography
• Strong understanding of CBSE, ICSE, and NEP-aligned curriculum frameworks
• Excellent writing, editing, and academic research skills
• Ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse learner profiles
• Familiarity with digital pedagogy, learning design, and educational technology tools
• Leadership and mentoring skills with a focus on collaboration and quality assurance
• 5 years of experience with teaching/content creation for ICSE/CBSE History content
• MA History or Master of Arts in Geography (required)
• MA Geography OR Master of Arts in Geography (required)
• Experience with IAS/UPSC examination preparation or coaching (strong advantage)
• Research publications or academic achievements preferred
• Acute attention to detail with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication, presentation and coordination skills
• Ability to work independently with cross-functional teams
• Willingness to undertake occasional regional travel across Gujarat
• Strong knowledge, skills and working functionality with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong work ethic and high work quality standards

Responsibilities

• Leading the creation and curation of high-quality academic content for History and Social Studies aligned with ICSE and CBSE curriculum standards
• Developing comprehensive lesson plans, study materials, and teaching aids that foster critical thinking and historical analysis
• Designing and validating assessment content including question banks, model answers, rubrics and marking schemes for formative and summative evaluations
• Creating workbook content, practice exercises and revision materials that reinforce learning objectives
• Developing teacher training materials and conducting professional development sessions for educators on History pedagogy and content delivery
• Performing rigorous quality assurance and validation of educational content to ensure accuracy, relevance and pedagogical soundness
• Collaborating with instructional designers, graphic designers and academic leaders to transform subject matter expertise into engaging learning experiences
• Working with cross-functional teams including technology, design and product teams to develop innovative EdTech solutions
• Shadowing and mentoring junior SMEs and content creators to understand concept progression, curriculum alignment and academic script writing templates
• Reviewing and providing expert feedback on content developed by team members to maintain consistency and quality standards
• Researching and staying updated with latest educational trends, NCERT frameworks, examination patterns, Board guidelines and historical scholarship
• Thinking creatively to develop engaging, age-appropriate and culturally sensitive content that brings History alive for students
• Structuring content to build historical thinking skills including chronology, causation, change and continuity, and perspective-taking
• Ensuring content covers Ancient, Medieval and Modern Indian History as well as World History topics prescribed in ICSE and CBSE syllabi
• Incorporating primary sources, maps, timelines and visual aids to enhance student engagement and comprehension
• Developing content that connects historical events to contemporary issues and encourages civic consciousness
• Communicating deadlines, timelines, lead times and priorities effectively to team members
• Planning work schedules ahead of time in concurrence with team members and other leaders
• Reporting to Academic Head/Director on content development progress, challenges and recommendations
• Participating in curriculum review meetings and contributing to strategic content planning
• Maintaining detailed documentation of content specifications, style guides and quality benchmarks
