1. Job Description: Teacher of English Language (Grades 610)

Position Summary:

The Teacher of English Language for Grades 610 is responsible for developing students proficiency in listening,speaking,reading,and writing, speaking, and listening. The teacher will engage students with comprehensive lessons in English grammar, composition, literature, and communication skills, while fostering critical thinking and creativity. This role includes preparing students for academic assessments and helping them apply their language skills in real-world scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lesson Planning and Delivery:

2. Plan and execute English language lessons aligned with the school curriculum and academic standards.

3. Teach core topics such as grammar, vocabulary, essay writing, creative writing, and public speaking.
4. Introduce and analyze literary works across genres, including poetry, prose, drama, and non-fiction.

5. Employ diverse teaching methods such as group discussions, debates, role-plays, and project-based learning to enhance student engagement.

6. Language Skill Development:

7. Develop advanced writing skills, including argumentative, descriptive, and narrative essays.

8. Enhance students reading comprehension and literary analysis through structured assignments.

9. Encourage verbal communication skills through presentations, discussions, and speaking exercises.

10. Assessment and Feedback:

11. Design and administer quizzes, tests, essays, and projects to evaluate student understanding and progress.

12. Provide detailed, constructive feedback to students to improve their performance.

13. Maintain accurate records of students grades and performance for reporting purposes.

14. Classroom Management:

15. Foster a disciplined and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and collaboration.

16. Establish and enforce clear classroom rules and routines.

17. Address behavioral issues promptly and constructively, in accordance with school policies.

18. Support and Guidance:

19. Identify and assist students with diverse learning needs, offering additional resources or referrals when necessary.

20. Mentor students to build confidence in their language skills and encourage creative expression.

21. Parental Communication:

22. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to discuss their childs progress, strengths, and areas for improvement.

23. Conduct parent-teacher meetings and provide actionable recommendations for supporting learning at home.

24. Professional Development:

25. Stay updated on new teaching methodologies, tools, and trends in English language education.

26. Participate in workshops, training programs, and collaborative sessions with other educators.

27. Extracurricular Activities:

28. Organize and support language-related extracurricular activities such as debates, drama clubs, essay competitions, and literary events.

29. Encourage students to participate in co-curricular programs that promote language and communication skills.

Qualifications:

1. Education:

2. Bachelors degree in English, Education, or a related field.

3. Masters degree in English or Education is preferred.

4. Certification:

5. Valid teaching certification for Grades 610 in the relevant region.

6. Experience:

7. Prior experience teaching middle and high school students is highly desirable.

8. Proficiency in teaching advanced grammar, writing techniques, and literature analysis.

9. Skills:

10. Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, composition, and literary analysis.

11. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
12. Ability to use technology effectively to support teaching and learning.
13. Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with adolescents.

Working Conditions:

• Work hours align with the school schedule, with additional time for lesson planning, grading, and participating in school events.
